Arjun Dhir is an Associate Lawyer at CCPartners with experience advising public and private sector clients, including unionized and non-unionized employers, on a broad range of labour, employment and human rights matters.
Arjun assists employers with establishing the employment relationship by drafting employment and/or independent contractor agreements and preparing workplace policies that comply with applicable provincial and federal legislation. Arjun provides strategic, client-specific advice to employers on issues that may arise during the course of the employment relationship including: performance management, navigating workplace accommodation, responding to allegations of workplace harassment, providing recommendations on employee terminations, and interpretation and application of collective agreements. In the event of an escalation, Arjun also represents employers in a wide array of employment disputes stemming from claims related to wrongful dismissal, employment standards, human rights discrimination and grievance arbitrations.
In addition to providing employers with strategic advice, Arjun is an experienced workplace investigator, assisting employers with comprehensively reviewing and managing allegations related to: workplace harassment, sexual harassment and/or violence, discrimination, gross misappropriation of funds, as well as a wide range of other alleged misconduct.
Prior to joining the firm, Arjun worked at a boutique Employment Law Firm in Richmond Hill, where he gained extensive experience assisting employers and employees with a broad spectrum of employment matters, as well as providing in-house support to the Firm’s sister HR-consulting Firm. Furthermore, Arjun also volunteered as a Caseworker at the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic, a poverty-law training clinic based at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law, where he represented underprivileged tenants with their legal matters.
Prior to his legal career, Arjun worked as a Financial Service Representative at one of Canada’s Big Five banks. During this time, Arjun completed the Investment Funds in Canada course which provided him with accreditation to solicit and sell a wide array of financial instruments. In this position, Arjun was responsible for providing client-specific advice and overseeing the entirety of both the lending and investing processes.
Arjun obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours in Political Science from York University.
